I have my Masters of Science in Technical and Professional Communication (2021) from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Additionally, I have my Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication (2010) from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
In the past, I worked for Central New Mexico Community College in the Marketing and Communications Office. The department was responsible for advancing the presence of the college through media and public relations in which my roles included website design, digital marketing, and photography. There, I used a variety of user research methods, sustainable content strategy tactics, advanced analytics tools, collaborative project management programs, enterprise content management systems, and professional-grade equipment and software.
What is Technical Communication?
People ask me what I do and here is my definition:
Technical Communication is the art and technique of understanding complex information to share in a clear, concise, and effective way through various media formats for a specific group of people.
What is Content Strategy?
Also, people ask me what this field is about, which Kristina Halvorson defined it best:
“Content strategy plans for the creation, publication, and governance of useful, usable content”
